I learned something from not having electricity...

NEW YORK SUCKS WITHOUT IT. I've never been so bored and uncomfortable in my life. It also shows how much we take for granted. I caught 3 hours of sleep last night. Actually I found out that the power went out around 4-ish. I didn't think much of it since I thought it would be back in abit...then I found out it was happening across the U.S. Thats how I found out it was serious. I spent the day just taking pictures (which I will be putting up later) of everything arund the house, basically to pass the time. Once it got dark boredom struck. Since there was only 1 candle me, my mom, aunt and cousin camped out in the living room. I must've sat there and watched that candle (nothing else to doo ;-[ ) ALL NIGHT. Seriously, I didn't sleep until 5 in the morning. I also noticed that the radio stations only play 5-6 songs all night until the following morning. So imagine sitting there with a candle listening to 5-6 songs from around 9pm-5am. I really thought I was gonna lose it. What else could go wrong?...the phonelines and cell phones went dead. @_@;;

Oh well, I'm still kinda pissed I missed out on the looting. Yes my friends yesterday was the perfect opportunity to steal that nice plasma tv you wanted. I'm sure someone did...I know for a fact people stole sneakers and sport jerseys...lmao. (For those who did...you know who you are..pass by my house and hook me up!!) Back on the block people did whatever it took to keep light on. Some went as far as to light fireworks (Yea, you heard me)..ahh...just got to love the ghetto -_- So all night I heard blllat...brrrrraaaaattt. [insert other fireworks sound fx here ]to go along with my 5 songs and candle.

Fast forward to today----->
I wake up around 8ish and my fam was leaving the house to buy ice. (I felt so left out..lol) Leaving me alone with nothing to do..well by the time they got back I finished eating breakfast and all that and thought I had to do SOMETHING to pass the time. I had a deck of cards laying around and played "I declare war" BY MYSELF. SMH. I managed to win and lose at the same time..lol. I got them to join in and played some other stuff til my mom and aunt thought they should go buy some portable fans. They left me and my cuz there and we pretty much played cards til the lights came back on. What a relief that was. I cranked the ac all the way up and turned on all the fans (our house was BOILING) I even heard a few people across the street yelling in happiness... XD I must say, this was all a very interesting experience I'll never forget. Hopefully it'll never happen again either. ^_^;;
